2022 Football Schedule Announced – Temple University Athletics

Cbssportsmyid

PHILADELPHIA – The American Athletic Conference today announced its 2022 football schedule. The Temple Football season, the first under head coach Stan Drayton, will get underway on Friday, September 2, when the Owls travel to Duke.

Temple will follow that road matchup with three non-conference games at Lincoln Financial Field – Lafayette (Sept. 10), Rutgers (Sept. 17), and UMass (Sept. 24) – before starting conference play.

That stretch will give the Owls three straight home games for the fourth time since 2010 (2010, 2011, 2021). It would also mark the sixth time in that span that Temple has played three home games in the month of September.

The 2022 season will see the Owls play three home games and one road game in both September and November while traveling for three games in October.

The conference schedule kicks off at Memphis on Oct. 1 and follows with a bye. The Owls will then play two nationally televised contests – at UCF on Thursday (Oct. 13) and a week later vs. Tulsa on Friday (Oct. 21).

Temple will host South Florida (Nov. 5) between trips to Navy (Oct. 29) and Houston (Nov. 12), before closing out the regular season schedule with home games against Cincinnati (Nov. 19) and East Carolina (Nov. 26).

The American Athletic Conference Championship game will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 and will pit the two teams with the best record from the 11-member conference. The team with the best conference record will host that game.
